		<description>This is a very interesting question, and one I have not heard about, except a mention of potential bankruptcy to avoid liability for the huge disaster in the gulf.

Your idea that another big oil company would buy BP, thereby changing its name is a brilliant move for them, as the blame is all with the old BP. All the discussions about how lax the oil companies are on safety is a joke anyway, as their record has been PERFECT for almost a hundred years. Anyone suggesting more rules and requirements to be placed on drillers is just subterfuge and grandstanding.

This is a sorry affair, and nobody wins, not BP or the public.</description>

		<description>We have seen that in our area of Hawaii.  Cutting overhead is always good, even in the good times, which this isn't.  Charities, just like companies, will just have to get lean like never before.  Sucess is survival in this economy.  Charity is the last thing extended by someone who's hungry.  

I enjoyed the "Obama to Fund Charities" discussion, but haven't seen any evidence of that yet.  Thank goodness.</description>
